Got the pictures from the front BBK fitting process! :pomppomp:

My mechanic then went to do a full wheel alignment. He said the ride quality is better with the new dampers and springs. He still hasn't had time to bed in the brakes properly. At the moment the acceleration suffered from the weight of the new brake discs, as expected.

Other updates, I got an exhaust manifold heat shield from Creations Motorsport and it was cutting the cable of the lambda lead. It'll need an adjustment to correct it.

Not sure if tomorrow he'll have time to test the output in a dyno, but only after that he's going to start fitting the rest of the engine parts. :smiley:

Yeah! I can't stop looking at the pictures. :drool:

Just had a short talk with my mechanic, he told me the brake pedal feel is much improved and he also confirmed that he's going to bed in the brakes before doing the dyno run today. :popcornsoda:

Sorry Rich, I'm not sure if I understood your question. :confused: These are my mechanic's pictures, I know nothing about mechanics. :ashamed:

My mechanic told me he measured all, even the hub, to make sure that everything was ok and that the caliper was well centered with the disc. He's very OCD and that's one of the reasons I prefer to wait to have my cars work done by him. :laugh:

Thanks for your help! You made the final push to convince me to get the R32 rear brake setup now and helped sorting all the parts needed. :drinking:

My mechanic sent me the graphic of the RR done today. He couldn't schedule it before like he planned to.

So here's the current output with:
  • Stock map
  • ITG Profilter panel filter (WB586)
  • Exhaust manifold heat shield
  • NGK Iridium BKR7EIX spark plugs
  • R8 red ignition coil pack set
  • BCS Powervalve TBE Prestige system with 200 cell cat and wrapped DP



He's going on holidays now so I'll have to wait a couple more weeks to have more updates. So far I'm very happy with the developments. :smiley:

I like the lines of the stock map. The dyno shop was very hot today. My mechanic told me he saw intake temperatures of 70ºC but he managed to lower them to 40ºC with water.

I was going to ask him to do a dyno before making the upgrades but he already had that planned. I have my car in good hands. :smiley:

Small update of the work in progress. :smiley:

Front end off to fit the new engine upgrades:


Currently fitting:
  • Darkside Developments S3 uprated IC with alloy end tanks and silicone boost hoses
  • LOBA's HPFP
  • RS4 fuel pressure regulator valve
  • CTS Turbo intake manifold runner flap delete kit
  • CTS Turbo throttle pipe
  • CTS Turbo turbo outlet pipe
  • Forge Motorsport oil catch tank system for vehicles with charcoal filter (FMMK5CTC)
  • Cam belt kit and water pump
  • Oil, fuel and cabin filters
  • Millers Oils CFS Nanodrive 5w40 NT 5L
  • All thermostats and temperature sensors

Quite a lot of carbon build for just 35.400 miles. :confused:
Maybe due to the engine running cold due to the malfunctioning DSG thermostat? :confused:

Well, it was all cleaned and the RFD kit installed.

My mechanic while updating me the developments questioned the advantage of removing the manifold flow dividers, since their purpose is to channel the air and reduce air turbulence. After considering that I'm not going to max out my K04, we've come to the agreement of leaving them fitted. The RFD kit will prevent future problems with breaking runner flaps and that's enough for me at the moment.

While fitting the Darkside Developments IC hoses a problem occurred. The coupler for the turbo outlet pipe didn't fit. The OEM coupler fit perfectly both OEM and CTS Turbo outlet pipe but the DsD's coupler clip was too wide:




Searched online and found that others from the Seat Leon Cupra forum had the same problem before too. Eventually they found that Creations Motorsport sold one just perfect for the job: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171266960379. It's the Type “E”: 64mm clip side outside diameter (o.d) male coupling, suitable for a 63mm internal diameter (i.d) hose.

Big thanks for those guys for sharing the solution. The coupler arrived yesterday and was a perfect fit as expected. :pomppomp:

Talked with DsD complaining about the fitting issue and they've agreed to make a refund after I return the defective coupler. Not sure how much they will refund me, but I've asked for the 30 £ I had to pay for the Creations Motorsport coupler.

Also, my mechanic detected a rattle coming from the alternator, so it'll get sorted. It had to come off anyway to install one of the thermostat, I think. :smiley:
