Done this yesterday on an ED30I won't be doing it again, I think the result with the buttons was not to bad. However the place where the module sits is not to my liking I'm sure it sits deeper on a proper m/f wheel
the way i done mine i am happy with and it is covered by airbag. To be honest if you were to do it for customers maybe doesn't look great in your eyes not sure i can't see a single fault with my one and it saved me lots of money

For completeness, the torx screws for the buttons, if you want to get them from VW, are part number: N909 680 01. Approx 83p for 2 from memory.
