Done this yesterday on an ED30

I won't be doing it again, I think the result with the buttons was not to bad. However the place where the module sits is not to my liking I'm sure it sits deeper on a proper m/f wheel

Does it really matter if it's covered by the airbag? Obviously as long as it's not chafing?

the way i done mine i am happy with and it is covered by airbag. To be honest if you were to do it for customers maybe doesn't look great in your eyes not sure i can't see a single fault with my one and it saved me lots of money

Kam, any chance you could take a close up photo of the part of the wheel where the buttons go, with the buttons removed?

I can take some pics if you pm me your email but to be honest i really don't have time to remove airbag and unscrew the button got lots of things to do

Done! Foam was a bit of a pain but all sorted now. My mute button doesn't work though? The long coding screen in VCDS flashes up for a second then disappears again? So I can't get to the long coding to change/check it?

For completeness, the torx screws for the buttons, if you want to get them from VW, are part number: N909 680 01. Approx 83p for 2 from memory.

Have you got genuine vagcom or copy sometimes that can make a difference?

Are you using vw radio ?? or aftermarket ?

I had problems with my vagcom where it did similar thing i left it till next day and tried it and BOOM coding worked that was for my valeo lights and to this day i don't know why it didn't work but got there eventually ?

Where did you get the little module from that goes at the bottom of the steering wheel?

And would these buttons do the job?

they will work but you need a little box swell just look for a steering wheel with buttons that is not flat bottom you can pick them up cheap

Is the only other thing I need the steering wheel control module?
