The DSG service is not hard. DIY it.
Thought you had to have vagcom to do it?

If you don't have vagcom some people measure and refill the same amount. But the money you save on DIYing it will cover the cost of investing in a vagcom cable.

Got my bumper back off my mate today :) looks great black with nissan KAE grey lower valance (exhaust surround). He also smoothed the toweye cover out, what a legend :) it looks awesome! Another 2 week before my bcs cat back will be ready so I'll fit that the decat downpipe and the r32 rear bumper at the same time. Can not wait!

Also put a deposit down on some brakes, local lad selling them everything needed to fit mk5 platform so spot on. There toureg 4 pots with drilled and grooved discs + pads. Will be purchasing these at the end of the month get them sprayed red and fitted :)

Only bad thing is I'm doing brakes and dsg service next month which has pushed the remap back too July :(

Pic of the new wheel colour...

So far:
Fitted:
Full service
Evoms intake
Black washer cap
Black coolant cap
Rcd 510 with usb slot
Michelin ps3 x4
Gti seat inserts
Powdercoated wheels Gun metal grey
Resprayed all calipers red (extra 5bhp)

To be fitted:
Decat downpipe and bcs TBE (r32 style)
R32 rear bumper with smooth grey valance

Refreshing the calipers has made a massive difference! Really pics out the red lipstick and makes it all tie together. Anyone reading with scabby looking calipers.. Get them done!

Thanks mate! I really can not wait haha
Was going to do the lipstick the same grey but since doing the calipers it really all ties in well. Gunna look great :) front bumper needs paint at some point as it has a lot of pebble rash on the splitter thinking about doing the centre splitter in KAE grey but unsure. Be a whole before I do the front bumper so might do a few photoshops

Mods on hold.. Having Mechatronics problems :(
Driving along in auto car went to downshift and lost all drive and PNRDS lights started flashing, pulled over turned car off and on again and everything back to normal. 5 mile down road used all gears everything fine. Then changing from 5th to 6th same thing happened again and engine management light on aswell. Car recovered home and diagnostic plugged on. (Car still drives as normal again but engine management light on and few codes stored too)

Got this same code stored 3 times..
18115 - interference in Mechatronic module

Also have
p0441 - tank venting system incorrect flow
(Not sure if this is related I had just filled right up ready for a long drive to a car show but sadly never made it :( )

P1624 - malfunction indication lamp
(Think this is just to get me to plug on to find the transmission fault codes?)

From what I've read it's going to be the Mechatronics,
Car is going to a transmission garage tomorrow.
Probs gunna be new Mechatronics or send the old one to ecutesting?
Not cheap either way :(

Ouch, flashing shift lights sounds like mechatronics unit, I had mine changed under warranty thankfully.

Some have posted about those symptoms being a selector issue, rather than mechatronics. A good search should bring up some info.

I'm having a good read tonight. What warranty do you get with these boxes?

Yeh if I had the car from new it would of been done but tryingn to find a car that's been looked after the way we all look after our cars is very hard nowadays.
