Hi mate did you use all three polishes that come with the sample kit? And which 3m pads did you specifically use?

Sorry to be a pain my car is in a similar condition to how yours was and I need to sort it asap  :signLOL:

Yes all 3 polishes mate and green yellow and blue I think it was. Same colours as the 3 main polishes. They use a colour coded system which is pretty idiot proof which is quite good tbh.
Was different class to the chemical guys polish I was using. Just buy the sample kit you get plenty of polish in it unless your one to machine polish your car very often. (I don't have the time personally) and tbh if you use correct methods when washing you shouldn't need to machine polish your car more than 2 times a year IMO
But depends what sort of finish you Intend to maintain

@white91  I've no idea the previous owner had fitted them. They look great but the road output is pretty pants IMO unless all mk5 with standard reflector lights have poor light output like I do.

Out of the polishes? It's really a 3 stage thing mate you can't just do 1.

Small update:
My mate replaced his cracked light unit after reversing into a post and dropped me his old one off.
Done the double reverse light/fog light lens delete whatever you want to call it mod for the symmetrical rear look.
Pleased with it, it's only a tiny mod which most wouldn't notice but it's these little things that make a nice car IMO :)

pics:
Before

After:

Excuse the dirty car (especially the exhaust tips) car has decat without a map so the tips make it look like a dirty diesel a day after cleaning them lol.
(Roll on r-tech next Wednesday :) )

Got this fitted to the drivers door :)

And a pic of her in the garage now there's space as my dads austin is at work with no clutch  :signLOL:

Love the look. I'm a big fan of the little changes too.

Good luck with R-Tech; I've heard great things and planned on taking my TDI in at the end of the month but probably going to have to wait a little while now until the bank balance looks a little better. :driver:

The more I look at it the happier I am that I did it! Sounds mad over a little lens lol but does look loads better should be like it from factory.
I can't wait till r tech! Haha I really need some brakes to go with the map but my crappy van needs taxing at end of the month and then it's saving for Xmas :(

Nice work on the lens swap - I have this to do on mine, just to even the rear up. As you say, it's the small things that add to the overall look.

I'm always in two minds making any changes to the exterior of the car, as it is great from the factory, but something subtle like that is only noticeable to us dub geeks!

Just had the car mapped by niki at r tech today. Car made 336bhp and 340 ft*lb will get pics of graph up at sometime and go into more detail but I'm busy enjoying atm. Big grins! Need some brakes now!

Added a Salk to the car tonight aswell as a superpro torque bush insert and some 15mm spacers for the rear as I moved my others to the front to clear my Touareg 4 pots :)

The brakes are awesome and getting better with everything bedding in! Feels like completely different car just having the confidence to give it a blast when I want too!

Only done 8 mile since fitting the superpro bits tonight but the Salk makes a massive difference' havnt had chance to give it a blast in the corners but I have traction in 2nd gear again! Grip is tons better it was damp tonight on my way home from work and only Tryed the power once but didn't spin at all in 2nd gear.

IMO a Salk is a must even with a stage 1 map. It's great having lots of power but it's putting on the road!
Updated spec list sort of thing since my ownership :)

Interior:
Cherry red hazard switch
MFSW buttons
Gti seat inserts
Rcd 510 with usb switch

Exterior:
Smooth us front grill
Open fog grills
Powdercoated pescaras anthracite
R32 rear bumper (smoothed tow eye and exhaust valance in KAE grey)
Polo aerial
Wind deflectors
Colour coded rear badge baseplate
Debadged rear gti badge
Double reverse light lens mod
Dewiper rear
Edition 30 front grill badge

Performance/chassis:
Evoms intake
Decat downpipe
Bcs sports system (r32 exit)
R tech stage 2 remap
R tech DSG remap
Audi r8 coilpacks
Touareg 4 pot brembo calipers with 330mm drilled and grooved discs
15mm front + rear spacers
SALK
Superpro Torque bush insert

Maintenance:
Full service (nano drive 5/40)
4 x Michelin PS3
Dsg service + oil cooler
New VW wheel centre caps
Brake fluid change

Still got my mfsw buttons to fit aswell :happy2:

Great work mate! :congrats:

And the SALK really surprised me too when I fitted it the first time in my GT Sport. For me any mk5/6 Golf should have it.
