Sticking Calipers & MoT

Hi - my car just passed an MoT last weekend and this week I had it booked in for a DSG oil and filter change at my local dealer.  As part of this they performed a visual health check where they diagnosed sticking rear Calipers.  So in an attempt to resolve this issue I booked it back in to have the Calipers stripped and cleaned, but the dealers called me stating I needed 2 new Calipers, discs and pads at a cost of £1006 for oem parts or £850 for non oem parts. 

I've 2 questions.... Firstly should this have been picked up during the MoT, if so it was performed at a Indy garage I trust, if not what do people think to the quoted prices given it's with dealer labour rates of £90/hour (discounted from £115).

It would of been picked up at the mot..and a grand to replace them is  ridiculous. Check them your self by jacking the car up and try spin the rear wheel with the hand brake of

I had a seized front caliper - quik fit replaced it with a new one , bled the brakes and refitted the wheel all for £140

They have some cheek dealers don't they,not hats ridiculous

Quick fit is the place to go to mate they changed mine for me and changed the brake fluid for free. Both rear calipers needed changed on mine and did it for £379. Oh and how much was the dsg oil change at main dealer?

Was the £379 for calipers, discs and pads??? If so that's just about the price of the parts at retail.  I'll check if they are actually sticking and then give kwik fit a bell for a price... VW appear to charge a standard price of £179 for a dsg Oil and filter change

Ended up going to the local Kwik Fit, and the lads there seemed fairly decent.  The calipers were properly shot, seized and the one was leaking fluid.... So I ended up with new discs, calipers and pads for £645, quite a lot but a load cheaper than VW quoted me
