Gti seat cover, cloth
« on: April 14, 2015, 04:58:25 pm »
just wandering if you can get hold of the chequered cloth off a gti seat, or a whole new base from vw.

Recently got hold of a set of gti seats and have put a slight tear in the drivers seat
How hard can it be?

I've been keeping a look out for over a year and a half for this plaid material. No such luck!

You'll be amazed what a good trim repairer can do with seats, give one a shot  :happy2:

The seat covers come as replacement parts from VW, one part top, one part bottom, you can also replace the foam.     Not cheap, if i remember correctly it's around £180 for the top part and £130 for the bottom seat cover...

I'll see if i can find the part numbers...

If it's not broke, Mod it.....

I knew they weren't cheap, I went to a trimmer before and he said he couldn't do anything for it, going to try another in the week.

Heres a pic of the tear, it's only small but I want to get it sorted before it gets worse.

Well, I fell really lucky. Went to a local car trimmer and asked about a seat repair where they was going to stitch an extra seam into the seat when he realised he had done a gti a few weeks ago, he went and checked and still had the old seat covers!

So he is replacing the lower half of the drivers seat and padding out the bolsters.......result!

Any luck on those? Sonder if you can get the ed30 ones too.

I'm near 100% sure this is the part number for the top  part of the seatcover :  V1K3 882 806 HT ZX N/STK 089066/COVER

£186.27 + VAT

@: 2013 June

When i spoke to the parts guy, he said the ED30 covers are non-replacment parts !
I would need to ask again...
