Not just the UK that has Scammers. Far too cheap to be legit.

Have a scroll through these as they're more like the price you'd expect to pay:-

Found the legit listing for the bottom one. Prices in Spain are shocking. MK5 GTI's in sh*t condition are around €10,000
I snapped mine up at €7995

Some of the prices of GTI's I see over here are 'optimistic' so it's not just Spain. Mind you, I never used to see that many when I lived there. Plenty of Seat's and Audi's though.

I think the cars in the UK are better looked after. Luckily the one i bought had 2 british owners from new. Not perfect but much better than most.

I think i will end up buying an edition 30 from Germany they are about the same price as a regular GTI in Spain. Plus the Edition 30 was never sold in Spain.

Or something a little bit newer.

I want a Golf R next and certainly wouldn't say no to a Red one.  :happy2:

An ED35 would be on my radar but after living with 4WD on my current car for a while now I think I'd miss it. Not having to worry about any lack of grip in the wet or dry is something I rather like. Grip and go!

Spain and the Canary Islands are very expensive for All secondhand cars for some reason , anyone know the answer why ? We regularly visit the Canary Islands , one in particular and thought about buying one to keep out there but the cost of even quite old cars was prohibitive !

New cars are generally cheaper but the price comparisons with the UK will fluctuate depending on the exchange rate. Second-hand cars are more expensive due to the hassle of changing the ownership and taxes (a percentage of what the vehicles value is deemed to be).

Canary Islands have an import tax even for Spanish registered cars but I understand new cars are cheaper still due to lower tax rates.

They're pretty rare around here (South Midlands) which probably doesn't help buyers, but does sellers.

You forget about them slightly, then I saw a red 5 door R with black Talladega's and it reminds you that they're not bad value at all for what is still an underrated Golf  :happy2:

I looked at the 6R, but decent spec low milers were fetching 20-23k at the time. Stil a lot of money for a 5 year old car. So I ordered a 7R with a decent discount

Same here, bought an S4 Avant for a little bit more than what a mk6 R goes for.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)
