I just contacted that seller and he's looking for an extra £10 for the CD version claiming it'll cost him more to make a cd over a dvd....

Sounds like he's taking the piss out of me no?

Still a bargain in comparison to genuine one though

I agree about that but to be honest this guy is most likely just throwing illegally downloaded data onto a disc.

I don't know why a cd would cost more than a dvd.

I don't actually use my sat nav and was only getting it for when I sell the car down the line...

That 1st link doesn't work, the PayPal link isn't there. I found another website with the same layout etc with a working PayPal. I've messaged the team last week and haven't heard anything back...seems like scam to me.

Only want the update cd as I'm running the 2004 version  :sad1:

Firmware and unlock thread: http://gpsunderground.com/forum/volkswagen-seat-skoda/20021-mfd2-rns2-dvd-unlock-firmwarethread.html

Newest map available (2015) for MFD2-DVD: http://gpsunderground.com/forum/volkswagen-seat-skoda/33840-vw-mfd2-rn-s2-v12-2015-%5Bblaupunkt-travelpilot-ex-v%5D-europe.html

My brother in-law has these maps up and running in his MDF2. He already had the latest firmware so he just needed to unlock his HU.

@shoduchi there's a couple of links - do I need to download the two files onto a dvd and then play them both in the MFD2 to firmware update and unlock?

MFD2 DVD (CB1.6): Share-Online - dl/73BLR9FMJLB (Firmware028)
Golf/Golf+/Jetta/Touran/Caddy/EOS/Passat/Passat Variant

Unlock DVD (all Firmwares): Share-Online - dl/X8TLS9FMQI2Z

Sorry I'm a bit of a newbie to the world of MFD2 so still figuring it out (from what I noticed, my units firmware is very old

If your unit hasn't been unlocked you need to do that. Update the firmware and unlock the unit.

Then burn the DVD and use it. It should be easy to do, IIRC.

@Matthewsimone Did you have to update your firmware before you could run the latest maps? I'm currently on V4 maps so obviously need an updated version but I don't necessarily want to go through all the rigmarole of updating the firmware as well unless I need to!
