Going Stage 3?
« on: April 18, 2015, 07:58:12 pm »
Hey guys, looking at stage 3 revo for the K03 mk5 gti. Is it worth the money upgrading to the k04 plus software?

I have heard I need k04 and injectors, can anyone recommend where to get them? Plus how much it would cost?

Pros and cons ect??

Many thanks!

Do it!!!!

You will need to source a K04, injectors and various bits of pipework - to go along with the usual stage2+ parts. You'll also need to factor in a clutch (unless you're DSG). These regularly pop up in the classifieds.

If you search, there is a pic showing everything required and all part numbers.

Not cheap to perform and I'm sure that many members will advise selling The K03 golf and buying an Ed30. I'd already spent too much on mine, so I ignored them and went Stage 3. No regrets at all  :happy2:

There are places that'll sell you everything as a kit, I've been looking at the various stage 3 kits at about £2000, factor in another £350 for 440cc Bosch injectors and it looks like 350bhp is accessible. Although beyond this my engine would need forged internals so a personal preference is to either remove my current engine, rebuild and fit stage 3 or buy a CDL engine and place that in instead of my.current engine.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Google "VeeDubs" as Rob recently put up a full K04 turbo conversion up for £800ish and he may still have it all. Located in Gateshead but if thats to far away from you then I'm sure you could sort out delivery

I phoned the boy today, he wants £800 for the full set up (turbo, injectors, fuel pump)

Seems like a cracking deal.

He says its from an S3 and has done 40k miles, does this seem ok? anything I should be wary of??

thanks

If it's Autosh*te internal HPFP then I'd be careful.

K04 goes for around 400 on it's own.
Pipework etc can add up to around 150
Injectors around 150.

Is that £400 new?? I have never seen any at the price, do you have a link or something?

Those are all second hand values.

I'd say £800 for everything is a reasonable price. As Jay says - beware of the autotech internals....

Do you have all the other Stage 2+ / Stage 3 parts? If not, you'll have to have custom mapping to run at around the 300bhp mark, rather than the 'full phat' Stage 3  :happy2:
