Mpg issue after pcv and dv change
« on: April 23, 2015, 08:18:00 am »
Hi people

I changed my dv and pcv yesterday. Scanned it with vagcom and all good. No faults errors Etc

Car drives fine and is better then before as old dv was split.

The problem I have now is I can actually see the mpg drop sitting in traffic. 1 mpg every 20-30 seconds. I'm certain this wasn't happening before.

What could it possibly be?  Have I left something unplugged?

Any test I can do using vagcom?

Appreciate any help.

Perhaps you hit the button on the stalk and are looking at Trip 1 instead of Trip 2 (current trip instead of the longterm)

Can someone please do me a favour. Next time your in your car and the car is up to temperature. Put the display on trip one and let me know if the mpg is coming down whilst idling.

Every car i've had does that it's just some are faster to react then others. Perfectly normal as sitting stationary you are doing the big fat 0 miles to the gallon.
