How many miles have people done on stage 2/2+
« on: April 20, 2015, 08:42:16 pm »
I am slowly working my way to stage 2+, and was wondering how reliable the car will be in the long term with an extra 150bhp.

What sort of miles have people put on stage 2+ cars, has anyone had gearbox issues or increased oil consumption etc.

Wonder who has done the most miles on stage 2/2+  :jumpmove:

There's a guy on here (forgot his name   :ashamed:) who has a K04 converted Octavia TFSI, he's done over 80,000 miles with the conversion (car is on over 120,000)

If you increase the maintenance (more regular oil changes), use Millers Nanodrive oil and only thrash the car when warm then it will do 200,000 miles  :happy2:

@RedRobin has over 110,000 miles on his K03 GTI - that's been tuned since around 20,000 miles IIRC

My car has been stg 2+ for almost 60k miles now including lots of track action with no issues. Car has currently covered just over 65k. :innocent:

Oil gets changed every 3k miles and before & after every trackday  (I use 5w40 Miller's Nanodrive or 10w50 for trackdays.)
Cam follower gets changed every 10k miles too.

 :happy2:

4WD Leon Cupra TTE420 K1, maybe slightly modded.

My stage 2 has done 5000 miles since the software was applied. I'm glad there appears to be no long-term reliability issues at this stage of tune.

On Revo Stage 2 I have driven more than 50,000 miles but would have to delve into JKM's archives to know more precisely.

Been on Revo Stage 1 for much longer, probably 80,000 miles.

DSG gearbox done by Revo too - For as long as it's been available - My car was one of those tested for it before public launch.

Absolutely no problems regarding any of my Revo remaps.

Going to Stage 2+ would mean swopping for an aftermarket cooler - I already have the APR High Pressure Fuel Pump. 270 bhp max (on JKM dyno) gives me practical driveability and that's more important to me than bragging rights.

My mk 2 Cupra R is 360/360 and has been from 43k miles to 63k miles.
Full service every 10k and oil and filter change every 3k. The car has only ever seen oe Quantum oil.
Cam follower changed when I bought the car when fitting the APR HPFP and every 10k since - although they have all looked brand new!
No problems at all.

Must admit I am considering a swap to Millers Nanodrive. Used millers regularly in Subaru's and never had an issue.
