Odometer has gone darker display
« on: April 21, 2015, 03:03:34 pm »
Ok guys, I've just been in my car and while driving it made a bong noise like low tyre pressure etc but couldn't see anything on the display, then noticed that my mileage display was not illuminated as much as the rest of the display, so is there bulbs in there can get replaced, if so how? Thanks.

The fault lies with the LCD's ribbon cable where it is terminated to the PCB, it's possible to fix sometimes new LCD but seems mostly to be the ribbon cable problem

Thanks guys, I think it's the heat from yesterday as I came to it this morning and all good again. So no more money spending at the moment.

Yes heat does affect it and you'll notice it more so in the summer, if you google it you'll find lots of posts and photos about it
