Reversing Camera Fault
« on: August 19, 2016, 05:09:37 pm »
Hi guys, right my reversing camera comes on when you select reverse but then if goes off before you have finished reversing/brought it out of reverse?

Any idea of a fault or of anyone on the forum who could diagnose and have a look at it?

Just out of interest do you have an led reverse light,  are you getting any light out faults on the dash,  one of the camera supplies comes from the reverse light.

Also is the radio screen remaining black once the picture goes off?

Hi Si, thanks for the reply.

No not getting any bulbs out notices and yes the screen stays black after the picture goes off?

Cheers

My guess is something is cutting the power to your camera. I'd check the wiring. I had to repair the wiring of my GT Sport rear camera after around 4 years of use. One of the wires broke and the other 2 were almost broken.

anyone on the forum who can check the reversing camera for me? Steve P fitted it for me years ago but I would guess he is a bit busy these days and Eddie NL is other end of the country

The fault I've had is the wires snap going into the camera - as previously stated - so you'll need someone who's handy with a soldering iron as this requires the assembly stripped to allow access to the wires entering the molded section - this image shows it and an other option for repair eg just buy the camera part.
