I'd get one of those, but the neighbours would complain about all the female ducks gathered around it! :signLOL:

porting the engine?

How did I know you would quote me

Ported cylinder head, lets k04 cars run to about 380hp.

Ha, only because I wanted to know what you meant.. Didn't know that someone had done a head on a K04 car? K04 running 380 (true) hp would be impressive to see for sure!

With the head off already it's only man hours, so a lot less than 700.

I remember about 16 years ago when I burnt a valve out on my .......Metro GTI!! Haha, and I had the head ported and flowed at the same time. Must have made all of 3 bhp difference to the little k series!  Oh the memories.

Waste of time going mad with the polishing.

Only 250.1bhp - but with that noise, who cares?

Enlarge the ports (these are always smaller than they could be due to manufacturing tolerances) and literally smooth out any blemishes and imperfections in the casting to help improve flow through the head. I know of someone who got an ST170 Focus up to around 220 with head work, cams and custom management but it had naff all torque. Until he fitted a blower!

no more power mods from me for a while. Doing a bit of interior and exterior spraying next. Then need to decide if I'm staying fwd or not,  or if I'm gonna sell up for something else. If I stay fwd I will then do diff and clutch next

animal, I have been told due to the fact that turbo push air less turbulence Long the way is very beneficial. Bsh sure do agree aswell

Fair enough, it seems I have been mis-informed on this having just made a phone call to check for myself - you live and learn! :ashamed: But with regards to polishing, the laws of physics dictate that going to town on this really isn't worth while. Smoothing things off - yes, but not so that you can see your face in it.

And you'd need your mapping tweaked to take advantage of the improved flow.
