email backdraft and ask them, im only passing on what they have quoted

I had a word with Alex a few days ago, and he confirmed what I thought.. He said they saw 5hp at the top, and a little more punch in the mid range on the road, but nothing noticeable on the dyno.. Of course, as I said, with a big turbo it would be worth doing..

Well, finally the gearbox is back in one piece.

Steve at Statllers has been great at letting me nosey at the car at each step of the process and has made me feel confident in how things are being done.

Getting part numbers etc has been a task on it's own as no-one seems to want to share information and VW will not release part numbers for any of the DSG.

Separating the main gear from the OEM open diff meant taking it to a nearby precision engineering firm to remove the rivets and they did a superb job too.

Steve was at work till 8.30pm tonight, putting the DSG box back together, so top marks from me :happy2: :notworthy:
Let's hope his wife is still talking to him :scared:

Next stop is the engine back in with the VF engine and transmission mounts in place. :jumping:

Sounds good John, so just diff and mounts? How come engine out then?

Spool at 5500rpm.. Hmm.. No fun!  I want to go 35R with billet wheel in the future, once the fueling is available, rev it to 9k and get spool at 5k.. 700hp FTW!

Once the fueling is sorted out then its going to be possible to make some seriously high powered FSI cars!! Getting up into the 1000hp level is possible with the hardware that is out there already.. Really not too far away from the 2.0T FSI being tuned to that level!! Can't wait..

This is what I dont get with the 2.0TFSI, why has no one properly sorted out a aftermarket part for the fuelling.

This whole internals and apr pump thing is just crap.

Uprated in-tank pump, uprated rail system, twin injectors, uprated top end with supertech valves, springs and retainers and uprated gasket, will see a good increase potential with the right turbo, but it is the HPFP limitations that would worry me with higher outputs over 600bhp.

You do come out with some stuff..

I dont think its really 'crap' at the end of the day, the uprated HPFP combined with RS4 injectors can max out the low pressure fuel system, so whats crap?? There is no problem with the high pressure side, its the low pressure that is holding things back at the moment..

You can easily 'sort it out' but you need to pay to play when it comes to tuning DI motors.. 99% of people out there aren't prepared to do it, hence very low demand for development parts..

If there is a market then the parts will be produced very quickly, but at the end of the day the engineers out there will only throw money at it if they see a return in their investments..

Uprated in-tank pump, uprated rail system, twin injectors, uprated top end with supertech valves, springs and retainers and uprated gasket, will see a good increase potential with the right turbo, but it is the HPFP limitations that would worry me with higher outputs over 600bhp.

The easiest solution at the moment would be to supplement the DI with conventional injectors, so there would be no more load on the HPFP than there is now, infact, you would be able to get away with running stock high pressure fuel, and run 1000cc injectors in the inlet manifold.. That would support over 1000hp

It will all take time - like Jonnyc said when the market becomes big enough.  There wasnt much about (without paying through the nose for it) when the 1.8T came out - now you can get lots of various upgrades for it. The 2.0T will follow I'm sure, I've noticed recently more and more becoming available

This time next year there will be stuff fairly readily available, for not too bad a price.. There will be fueling solutions out there in a couple of months, but its going to be god money to start with..

Like you say, same with anything!
