W Rated tyres
« on: April 27, 2015, 08:00:10 pm »
I think my golf 2008 came with conti sport contact 3s  form factory, with a W rating but im unsure. The previous owner has an invoice for a tyre change to Y rated and when I got the car had 2 Ws and 2 Ys. I now currently have 3 y rated tyres (due to a puncture) and 1 W rated tyre. Is this a problem?

Speed rating is only going to be worrisome if maxing out at those speeds...for daily driving you should be safe until you can match them again in the near future. I am unaware of the rating the Conti 3's were there...here in the states they were 'Y' rated from the factory.
