Thought id get involved in the fun so bought myself a 07 plate gti today, picking it up next saturday! Literally had a smile on my face all day, I bought a 2006 mk5 TDI when i was 21, traded it in for a 60 plate polo (i have no idea why i ever did it…please don't send me hate mail for it!) and finally plucked up the courage to get myself a gti today. It cost £9k which was more than i was willing to pay but it only has 49000 miles so i was impressed! Insurance is £650 with 3 points and 3 years no claims, my polo was £450 which makes me wonder why i never bought sooner!
The ad said manual but when i went to see it i noticed it had a DSG gearbox which was what i was actually looking for! They offered £5k for the polo and the rest was history!
Great parts:
The car felt really responsive and when i needed to shift, it didn't disappoint. (In comparison to a 60bhp polo)
The car was in a great condition for an 8 year old.
Bad parts:
Few scuffs and damage to rear bumper right side but i've been reassured that it'll be repaired.
Loud knocking noise from rear right. Think its from the suspension but this will also be repaired.(any advice?)
I want to do the usual, remap and milltek exhaust, possibly upgrade the cd player to the sat nav too, can anyone recommend me with these? Also, if anyone recommends any changes to make to the car mechanically or areas to specifically look for common issues then please let me know.
Thanks in advance! I've added the original advert for it below (Still buzzing)
