Replica R32 Rear Bumper
« on: May 04, 2015, 06:16:28 pm »
Right so i bought a replica r32 rear bumper off eBay a while ago for around £89 i think, when it arrived i didn't test fit it as such but kinda lined it up and checked the clips fitted ok with the standard diffuser off (Realising this was a mistake now). I just got the bumper painted not long ago and finally got around to fitting it today ready for a custom cat back exhaust to be fitted. Ive attached a couple of pics and it all lines up well and fits great but as you can see from the second pic the bumper doesn't go down low enough to clear the bottom of the car for an exhaust to fit! Has anyone else had this same problem with a replica bumper? Did some research and seen theres a better replica around £140 were the diffuser is separate from the bumper where mine is just an all in one, do these fit better? I know genuine is best way to go but was trying to keep cost down but thats failed miserably and also my own mistake in not proper test fitting before spraying. Any help would be great thanks. Your bumper is fine, it's the undertray that needs "persuading" out of the way!

Gently bend (tap with a mallet) that undertray exhaust heat shield out of the way to allow your R32 style rear zorst to fit.

@MC71 yeah I guess I could try and see if that free's up some space but another problem was the two metal brackets either side of the exhaust outlets that hold the torx screws are both below the bottom of the bumper. Which makes me think the bumper is cheap crap

Mine is a one piece and you have to bend those old brackets up out of the way or grind them off.

The original part drops no deeper.
