Always good to hear of a rekindled love. Keep at it and it'll be worth it.

Using higher octane fuel should see higher fuel economy as it burns cooler and slower so the map adjusts for this and uses slightly less fuel so better economy. Of course, that's under normal driving, not hard down on the go faster pedal.

Ah nice, that is good to know  :happy2:

Well it's been a while since I've updated this thread and it's also probably been that long since I washed it.

Nothing has happened since last update apart from enjoying the car and I had a clutch fitted as the old one was on it's way out especially with over 300 torques shouting at it. Was changed by Midland VW. Great set of lads, would certainly recommend for any VW needs or even VAG.

So, this weekend I washed it.

The dirty bits:

This followed a jet wash down and then some Bilberry wheel cleaner.

Then a light snow-foam.

Finally a wash with Z7. Protection holding out still.

Dried and a quick wax with lots of afters.

Nae bad for 100k.

Now for sale.

Even that dirty the Edition 30 still looks good! Looks like a different car all cleaned up - would never guess it has 100k on it.
Good luck with the sale!

Well I accepted a deposit on Thursday and was collected today.

Was sad to see it go, really are brilliant cars.

I had an offer accepted on an 8P S3 last week but had to let it go as he had another buyer and I had to sell my car first, typically I sold mine a week later but oh well.

Probably going to buy a stop gap car this weekend as I need a car but will keep my search for an R32 or S3. It's a shame the S3 has such a premium, I really don't understand why, it's exactly the same as an ED30 bar the AWD yet commands a 5k premium, but hey.

Here's some final picture from Gti Spring Festival at Santa Pod the other week.

Again - it doesn't look like the miles it has covered!
Great final pics - thanks for sharing. Hope you find the S3 you want - 4WB & Wingbacks are the only reason I would sell my ED30, but as you say - £5k is a bit of a premium.
Good luck with the hunt, & hope to see your new car on here too
