Key immobiliser coding desperate help needed.
« on: May 04, 2015, 05:41:05 am »
Hi guys

To cut a long story short I broke the little transponder chip in my key. I only have one key.

Know anyone in the Luton area who can program this for me? I am totally desperate as I can't use my car at the moment.

I have read various threads over the last few days and basically it said I can program the key using vagcom which I have.  I need to obtain the skc from the cars clocks or ecu using either vag commander or vag tacho. I have ordered the virgin transponder chip if it helps. Don't have it but should arrive with me Wednesday.

So can anyone help? I am utterly desperate.

You'd need one good transponder to copy it to a virgin one. With no good transponder I'm not sure you can get a key to work with your immobilizer unless you ask for a new key from VW.

I'll follow this topic to see if others know better.

Have a read of this http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Immobilizer

Determine the type of immo you have. If it's the later challenge type you won't be doing it with either VCDS or the cheap Commander clone.

Thanks guys.

I'm sure it's not the challenge type immobiliser.

Good news is found someone who can program it.

I will also give it a go by trying to program a key myself using the virgin transponders I ordered. Will let you know how I get on.
