Aftermarket Front Wings
« on: February 28, 2022, 07:58:57 pm »
Hi, does anyone know if these front wings will fit the MK5 GTI? I wasn't sure if this part was generic across similar models (hatchback, TDI)?

Thanks

Yes it will fit. Only the estate or Jetta wings are different as they have a crease running front to back.

£53 is a steal of a deal, it doesnt state what material, i to need new wings, and the best i have found is ready painted tornado red for £175 each, if i could get 2 for £106 my spray guy wouldnt charge more than £100 for painting which is much better value

Cheers for the replies, I have taken a punt on a pair of these. Will post them up here when I see what they're like. I got a quote from VW out of interest and they were charging £186 for each one with primer only.

They quoted me £250 each, also primer only! I ended up going with the Lothian wings off eBay, good paint match but OK fitment.

As far as I'm aware, the ECP wings are the same ones that Lothian Auto Parts sell painted - I may be wrong but if I remember rightly, they arrived to me in the Euro Car Parts packaging from Lothian. Think I was £170 painted for two from them.

Doesn't look like Lothian stock them any more on their ebay store. Has got me thinking though it may be cheaper just to buy the pre painted ones off ebay, as even though I've picked up a pair for just over £100, I've been quoted £300 to paint both.

I ordered a wing from Lothian back on 16 Feb, then had zero communication from them over the delivery. Queried it after 10 days, apparently staff off with covid. Got the dispatch email last Saturday but still no tracking info and I don’t believe it’s really been sent yet. Been a shocking service for me and would not recommend at all.
