Retrofitted a reverse camera
« on: June 01, 2017, 09:10:35 pm »
Hi I've just retrofitted a reverse camera kit on my mk7 gtd non sat nav but I assume that doesn't make any difference.But it all went pear shaped when I tried to activate with vcds.it would appear it doesn't support my car.Ive ordered a more up to date vcds on eBay .Has anybody successfully done this?Was a genuine vw retrofit kit I got so fingers crossed.

What car model is the camera from?
What model is your car?

I had the same problem fitting a highline camera from a Passat to my 6R

Had to change the model in VCDS to Passat. It now works

On the Golf Mk 7 the reverse camera will only work with certain head units.
Take a look here:

@Jmccarron71

Assume you've posted this is VWROC? Know of a few peeps over there who have retrofitted RVC to their Mk7 but can't remember which Headunit they have. I'll have a look.
