I have the RS calipers on TTS 340mm discs which are lighter cheaper and I haven't warped them yet. Only issue with the RS calipers is clearance is bad. The stopping power is amazing though, I had them on track on Monday and they never faded once on me.

Nah I had an R32 front setup for sale a couple of weeks ago. The normal discs are OK but they are known to warp with really heavy use sometimes and they're £450 odd a go

lots of MK5 GTI owners run TTRS disc no issues, people talking about chocolate discs are people that don't have them.
this issue was with TTRS cars going on track and cooking them in a few laps supposedly.

if any GTI owner can tell me they cooked a set I will stand corrected but until then.....

Step in @DaveB1970 !!!

I'm quite interested in this thread as it seems to remind me of those where people proclaimed stock 312s with uprated pads, lines and fluid being ok on the track.

Albeit here we're saying TTRS discs are 'ok'.

There's not that much difference between a track and 30 miles of inviting road. And in such a situation I found the 312s dangerous.

Are oem TTRS discs in this application dangerous.......?

Discuss!!!!!!!! ;-)

For me since I have never seen the warping issue myself that wasn't my main concern although it was part of my decision. But for me its the fact they cost £450 a pop rather than the 340mm's which cost £140, even with the £260 brackets they're cheaper and you can sell the brackets for at least £150 at a later date.

I have ttrs brake setup with the ttrs discs and have no problems so far. Lots of fast driving followed by heavy braking and no a single issue.
my strength lies solely in my tenacity

Never yet and I've pushed them hard.
