Still Searching...
« on: April 21, 2015, 11:18:57 am »
I've been looking for the right Edition 30 now for months and now and I still haven't found anything.

I'm thinking of upping my budget to 11k-12k and going for a MK6 GTI, Probably the wrong place to ask but has anyone else got a MK6 GTI or had one? If so, Are they any good?

Personally as an ED30 owner I would recommend you stick with it to find a good one (well....I would say that wouldn't I ).  £12k is a good budget and for this you can get one of the best, if you look after it well then it's a good investment compared with a standard Mk6 GTi.  Good luck.

Still currently searching, I'm not sure if I am being to picky?

Edition 30, Steel grey, 2008 reg or newer, Full service history, 5 Door (A must), Mileage under 70k, Untouched - No engine mods. Highline dash & sat nav.

I have around 10k to spend. Is this asking to much?

You'll be narrowing cars available to you dramatically by searching for a 2008 Ed30, most were registered 2007 so would be a 56,07 or 57. Any reason you want a 2008 - do you have a personal number plate?

There isn't a particular reason for 08 other then it being that bit newer, I mean a 07/57 would still do me tbh.

Just finding it hard searching for the right car atm, Doesn't seem many are up for sale!

Don't buy a MK6 GTI . Buy an ED30 . One will crop up soon , have you seen the one i have linked you to below , its about 5-10 miles from me .

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Volkswagen-Golf-2-0T-FSI-230PS-2007-57-Grey-GTI-Edition-30-low-mileage-/271839668242?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3f4ae82812

Quite basic spec , its at a dealer but only a small one ... Its No. 1174  I have never seen it being driven , but then it only has 22k

It is about £1k too much imho and doesn't even have Sat Nav . It will probably still have original tyres disc and pads and likely to need a cam belt this year too .... So there is £1k off the price immediately . I can look at it for you if you are really interested .....
