I had the same dilemma last year.

Went GTR  and have never regretted it. It's loud, uncomfortable, not that practical and expensive to run.

Love it. RS6 in comparison is a lovely car and completely invisible.

You need to clean your blockpaving  :rolleye:

Nothing else interesting in the photo tbh.....

hehe thank you all. RS6 is happening. Off to Audi next week but suspect won't be buying from them as I seen a spec'd up one up north. All in time for moving up north for a year!

I see REVO have released their software, but seems MRC's stuff or even Litechfields maps/add ons add more ability.

I think APR have software as well

I'll have a look now! But checked again and MRC seem to get hell of alot more!

@jonnym do you know of Wayne Simpson? He's got the merlin purple RS6 the R8 on air and the S3 (now widebody) on air.

His Instagram is rs4tdi and I believe his RS6 is APR tuned by vrsnorthampton, there's a few videos of that beast on his Instagram page

Yeh just had a quick look now. Looks quick! APR seems to do better than REVO, but still MRC get more. This is of course just on paper!

I'll try and get a vid and some exact figures from my friend getting his RS6 mapped by MRC in a couple of weeks, the good thing with the MRC is that its a bespoke map tailored to the car, not just a preset map loaded in.

Yeh that would be wicked. Seem MRC have a one stage approach to start but add air intakes etc on as well so you get more than the generic stage 1 map.

Not a bad choice to have! As much as I'd love an RS6, I would only have one as a compromise if I needed the space as well. Went on a run yesterday and there was a 700hp R35 that I had a play with, made my S2+ R look like a diesel lol. And as others have said, I've been keeping my eye on the R35 market and over the last 18 months they have only been going up. Would loose 10s of thousands on an RS6 over a couple of years of ownership i'd imagine. So yeah out of the 2 for me it would have to be the GTR!

lol I know! That said a stage 2 TTRS destroyed me few sundays ago! I like the space but I can change! Your making me looking at the GTR again but tuning and running costs are an issue.....

The facelift GTR's aren't as bad for running costs compared to the 1st ones but still expensive compared to the RS6. My personal opinion though is over say 2 years of ownership, you'd be better off with the GTR due to the RS6's depreciation if the C6 one is anything to go by. But whatever you choose you'll have an absolute weapon!  :happy2:

I know I know  :sad1:
Tbf i'm not looking at shifting anything quickly so I reckon even with the GTR i'd loose some cash. My mk5 I lost a fair bit on, but the RS6 will truely be low miles and going abroad/mess around. GTR yes I can do that but I can't stick my stuff in it! Saw you could get stage 4 of something off a GTR for £5k which is ok, but compared to the RS6's offer is expensive. It will be a keeper for a good while.

The fella who I used to map my S4 has a new RS6, he currently has it to ~720hp and 1150Nm, says it is far too feisty for fast road driving, but for autobahn driving it just goes and goes and goes.

They depreciate at a crazy rate too, but what a car.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)
