Battery drain and rcd510
« on: May 21, 2015, 05:54:51 pm »
Been experiencing battery drain on and off. Works fine one min the flat the next. Been advised to do parasite test, but my multimeter wouldnt set low enough.
So put it on volt setting and could see that i was getting a drain after around 20mins. So i undone bonnet connection, lock door catch  over and waited to see if drain was still there. 20mins so later volts were going down from 12.48v to 12.47 within 7-10mins. Ive removed the radio fuse and drain seems to of stopped.
Ive had my rcd510 headunit in for over a year now, i had the canbus updated when i fitted it.
Can the canbus lose its update and revert back to old setting? Or is the rcd510 known for going faulty
