KENWOOD GARMIN DNX 5260BT
« on: June 30, 2015, 12:56:02 pm »
Hi guys,
I have inherited in the GTI I bought over here in Crete a Kenwood Garmin Satnav unit, model number DNX 5260 BT that's driving me around the bend ! At 63 years old i peaked with technology about 10 years ago and it's been downhill ever since ! The bottom line its to complicated with its 130 page manual I am sure it could drive the car if I knew how to programme it !
I would really like to sell it or preferably do a part ex for a standard VW fitment the RNS510 seems to be the obvious alternative, anyone got one who can see the advantages of this unit for them over the 510 ?
I can put it on EBay, I am back in the UK at the end of July so can get it back OK but thought I would see whether any of you had any input on the subject.
I know nothing about it, what I can work is fully operational it has a usb fly lead in the glove box which plays the contents of a memory stick ok, the satnav appears to be working ok but have had no real need to use it over here.
Thanks, enjoy the good weather !

Audio quality is a lot better with the kenwood unit
Imo the sat nav is nicer to use too,

The normal interface for radio/ipod isnt quite as pretty but its not bad or hard to use.
Theyre worth about 350-400 so best bet is buying an rsn510 if thats what you want and then selling the kenwood unless someone wants a swap. Its a plug and play if it was properly installed as theres a loom inc steering wheel controls.
