Handling issues
« on: February 12, 2015, 07:56:02 am »
In the last two weeks my handling seems to have gone to pot a bit. When I turn in there seems to be a delay from the rear end and the rear feels like it's sliding around the corners.

As its sudden I was thinking it's a suspension or bush related problem. Has anyone else had the same problem?

Any helps much appreciated!

Should also add that it's been aligned and that helped slightly.

It's on my list to check this weekend. Going to check springs, struts, bushes, top mounts. Anything else to consider? Steering rack?

if the car is sliding around on acceleration then you will need to check all the points start with the tyres spin each one and check for any sticking / rubbing, then check for play if all four tyres if all are good then check for tyre wear see if all patterns look the same after this its under the car check sway bars anti roll  look at all poly mounts groms, what you can try and do it take it for a spin find a speed bump hit it at normal speed say 20 / 15 but hit it dead centre and just as you hit it turn to move back onto your side of the road as your coming off if you feel the back end wiggle it will be your suspension strut "check for misting" not that will be your anti roll, hope this helps
