Service book, do you bother?
« on: May 18, 2015, 10:30:38 am »
Just wondering if any of you DIY mechanics out there fill out your service book?
I've just carried out a lot of work on my gti and was wondering if anyone filled them out or if they left it only for garage stamps etc?
Obviously I don't have a stamp for it but if you have receipts surely that could suffice?

Cheers :)

I would write in the space what you have done and date of invoice/receipts and the mileage . So just the same as a dealer would , write self service where the stamp would go . That's what i have done in the past on cars that i serviced ... :innocent:

Fill in the page/tick boxes to what work you've done, keep all the recipts and f**k the stamp, it's that simple. Stamps mean nothing.

As above. I feel out the book and tick the boxes but dont bother with the stamp. Means nothing. As long as you have invoices to prove you have the parts then thats all that matters.
