Got my RNS510 LED Screen with SSD Hard Drive from Ebay - all the way from Latvia
Took 20 mins to fit and works a treat

Here is an example listing - nothing to do with me!

You may need a new CAN gateway to stop battery drain (depending on what year your car is), and the RNS510 doesn't have bluetooth built in. So if your car doesn't currently have bluetooth, you'll need that as well.

I went aftermarket  :signLOL:

Often get more kit with aftermarket headunits but I wanted an OEM look and full functionality with the steering wheels controls and Red Dot MFD
I got around the Bluetooth issue through installing a Fiscon Basic +  :happy2:
No issues with battery drain for me as mine is a late 2008 model

Yep, there's a trade off no matter which route you go. I went with an Android unit and couldn't be happier. Only downside is it doesn't display any track info on my highline, but other than that it looks completely stock. I've got access to a stupid amount of apps (i.e Play store) and you can do some very clever stuff with it.

Battery issues with the RNS510 are apparently pre-07, but don't hold me to that ;)

I'm looking into getting either an RNS-510 or RCD-510 for my newly acquired Golf. How would I know if I would need a new CAN gateway? Would want it to work with the MFSW and MFD. And bluetooth would be a must. Any pointers would be much appreciated, am very new to the MK5 Golf world :)

If your car is pre-07, it'll most likely need a new gateway to prevent battery drain. Or you could look at getting an RNS310 which wouldn't need a new gateway. The only sure way to tell (without physically getting to the gateway), is to plug in VCDS and you'll get the gateway number from that.

If you don't have bluetooth, that'll need to be installed separately as well.

Do some searching on the forum for battery drain issues, and you'll pick up all the info you need.

Mine is an '06 so looks like will probably need a new gateway.
Thanks for the help.
Will have a search on the forum.
