So what did you have to do to get 480 bhp?

How do you get the extra top end speed past 150mph - surely thats not down to a remap... that needle was moving really fast???  :rolleye:

Give me specs!!!

....OEM speedos are not accurate - It won't be reaching a true 150 mph. For example, when my speedo is displaying 100 mph I'm doing 86 mph on GPS (both Road Angel and PogoAlert). The margin of error is greater at higher speeds.

Oh its reaching 150 mph all right Robin

That Particular car reached 480Bhp on PSI's Rolling Road last weekend... now i know you'll probably say it wont be as accurate as JKM's RR but 480 horses give or take does leaves a little margin for error...

....I was just passing general comment in response to Mo. If someone wants to claim their car can do a certain speed it's only meaningful with more accurate speed measuring equipment than the oem speedo.

On the appropriate German autobahn my VW speedo will show I'm doing 150 mph but I'm actually in the 130's according to GPS.

The video was more of a "look how fast the needle goes around" rather than "how fast it in MPH it goes".... But yes I agree speedos are usually out, a MKIV is a bit more accurate than a MKV iirc although his has been GPS'd well off the clock too.

It's a MKIV 1.8T (bored to 2.1 now I think) and running some very impressive hardware. However, in true sleeper style, you'd never guess to look at it.

Anyways...

No John, I'll be as-is this time around, no more mods. S3 arms/HPFP & 'cooler going on for Rockingham in March though.
Sideways yo!

dont you lose some of the WALK arm benefits though going to S3 arms?
or are they lightweight AND dynamic castor changing ?

You've got camber and caster mixed up.

More caster gives dynamic camber, so S3 arms with more static camber will just add to that dynamic effect.

well thats my question , do S3 arms give you all the advantages of the WALK kit with also decreased weight and improved bushings ?
do the two compliment each other ? or is both too much?

I have WALk and love it, but want to add S3 arms to help improve the unsprung weight (after fitting R32 front brakes)......

I also plan to update your/my WALK review too with anymore new data  :happy2:

its all your fault  :signLOL:

Yes, as far as I understand the S3 arms will compliment and enhance the WALK. There are no detrimental effects.

The additional static camber isn't enough to wear tyres unevenly and the dynamic camber, well, the more the better! .. saving weight just adds to the deal.

Just do it.

i asked vrstu if his front lower arms on his S3 were camber adjustable a while back and he said they wernt, they were just made of lighter material. afaik its only the tt arms that are camber adjustable.  which was a shame cos id found some cheap S3 lower arms on the ebay

reference the speedo, on the autobahn when my speedo hit 160 my tom tom was showing 152mph, so i dont reckon it is that bad to be honest

....It varies from car to individual car, and that's the point: It's inaccurate and unreliable. Mine is especially inaccurate and car manufacturers are only obliged to be +10% out (but -0%). VW offered to change mine under warranty but would not guarantee better than 10% and I couldn't be bothered as I always use GPS.

Anyroadup, the subject was more about acceleration than top speed reached (my misreading).

 :happy2:

SO WHERE ARE THESE OULTON PARK PICS ETC!?

Greasy day to say the least. Fog stopped play so only did 4 sessions I think.

Usual few idiots trying to grenade the ebay sh*tter they've bought and taking offense to you being faster than them, but otherwise good fun.

Might have done Old Hall sideways, hit the apex and saved it though... :innocent:
