Help - Knocking noise
« on: May 20, 2015, 02:46:24 pm »
Hi guys,

Only owned my Mk5 Golf Gti for 3 nearly 4 weeks now and after the initial excitement phase, I have noticed a very slight knocking noise coming from what sounds like the front left side suspension (i think?) The noise doesnt happen when just driving along, it only happens when I accelerate and let off in low gears, for example 1st gear, accelerate a little bit, let off the pedal but dont change gear and it will make a knock/thud sound! Anyone able to shed some light on what this could be?

Also when sat stationary with the engine on, when i wiggle the steering wheel there is again a slight knocking noise from the same side (front left side) wheel.

Any help, much appreciated!
