Rear arch flaring
« on: May 22, 2015, 06:34:09 pm »
I'm looking to get some new wheels but the rears are 9.5j et43, this means they will sit out 12.25mm more than when I had my 9j's with a 5mm spacer. There was a few mm spare and the tyre will be a bit more stretched so I only need about 7 - 10mm extra in there. Would I be able to gain this much from flaring? What are the rears like for flaring on these? Do they go bad easily etc.. Any information is helpful. Cheers

The rears don't really flare, they an be pulled slightly though
What about camber? How much do you run?

None really as I'd rather not eat tyres too quickly. I wouldn't normally bother but I really like these wheels and its either squeeze them in or buy 2 sets  :rolleye:

I thought it was camber since that puts more wear on the inside of the tyres? I don't really know much about camber tbh  since its not really my thing. Do you reckon I could make these fit just with camber?

Running lots of camber will but a sensible amount wont. As said above toe eats yours tyres.

How much do you reckon I'd need to make 10mm difference? Also I don't want to have issues with inside clearance. Cheers
