Orbital Polisher Newbie

Go to a lighter polish and pad to finish it off.

I've had enough now not even finished the roof.  :sad1:

Did another pass with the V32 and the Hex-Logic Medium Cut
I skipped the V34 as it just puts powder everywhere. (I think its off)
Then a pass with the V36 and the Supernatural Fin Cut Heavy Polishing Pad
And another pass with the V36 and Hex-Logic Light Cut & Polish pad.

Will finish the roof tomorrow with finishing pad and some dodo micro prime or lime prime.

Do i really need so many steps?? It will take a month at this rate.

dansmith180:
That's why I like the UHS or FG400 (which is a bit dusty) they finish very well even though they're heavy compounds, you can refine over them as well for extra gloss but isn't needed on most cars (especially lighter colours).

Just use your heaviest pad/ compound combo and then I light one to finish, with a DA you only ever need 2 steps really. Also you don't have to press as hard with the finishing stage or work it in as long.

Thanks mate so V32 on a heavy pad then V36 on a finishing pad?

I didn't do a very good job on the roof last time i lost momentum having spent so much time on some really deep scratches else where.

Its looking good now. There is one scratch which i may have another go at.

Yeah that should do it, don't get to caught up trying to remove every scratch as with a DA you won't get everything out of VAG paint.
