epc and traction light on
« on: May 25, 2015, 04:52:34 pm »
Hi guys. I have a 2005 gti axx engine, trying to cut long story short I blasted up the motorway the other week and when I pressed the accelerator pedal it felt like it didn't register that I did it and nothing happend but when I did it again it went back to normal and carried on. But the other day the epc light and traction light come on intermittent as sometimes they went off. And now the thing broke down and ain't starting again now. Anyone had this before? I have looked around and the most likely people are saying it's the tb. I plugged it in when it 1st started doing this and it came up with P2101 throttle actuator control motor? Stuck without a car now
Thanks

My guess would be throttle body also.
I had a new one fitted which was made by Continental (different to the one that came off, can't recall the make though) and my garage said they'd never seen a part made Continental fail yet. Coincidence or not I don't know but maybe there's a difference.

Grab one second hand mate, and ONLY the Revision Q (Continental as above iirc) - haven't heard of a Rev Q failing, think they cracked it with that revision.  Mine's done about 60k mapped and no issues.  Cheap now on eBay too. Quite an easy DIY with small hands (or fat hands and scuffed fingers), ha.
