After a massive effort today its all finished. I also replaced both inner cv boots and the ARB drop links.

Gear changes are smooth with a nice high biting point.

Don't work on a car if you are tired i went for a test spin around the block. When i got back i remembered the wheel nut bolts and main drive shaft bolts were only hand tight. I forgot about it after filling the transmission. muppet.

Your ability to do these types of jobs,knowing your more an upstairs use your brain type of guy amazes me, 10 out 10 for your ability and persistance to succeed were many others would of given up.

On to my next problem now. She struggles to start in the morning so ordered the correct size battery some muppet sold me the wrong battery a few years back (before i took on the maintenance myself).

Went to check the glow plugs but the harness just disintegrated in my hand. So i've ordered a new one from the stealers. 

Did manage to check one plug with the multimeter and it returned 0.4 so will replace all the plugs also as i read they should have a resistance around 1.

I find the MKIV. Golf glow plug harnesses have to be changed if you've got a heater plug problem - they just go brittle.

When testing the glow plugs institute I just use a fused feed and a series amp meter - I find this a more simplistic way to prove which glow plugs are faulty or if I have an earth return fault for what ever reason.

I'm getting a judder when pulling off in first. It did exactly the same prior to changing the dmf/clutch.

At first i thought it would go away when i get used to the new biting point but i'm not so sure.

Any thoughts on this? Only does it when cold (14º here today).

Did you do a good good of degreasing the pressure plate and flywheel surfaces on the rebuild Dazza?

No i replaced everything. Gave the bell housing a good clean though.

Even if everything is new it still needs the degreaser removed from those faces - there protected to prevent rusting in storage.

The clutch/dmf was also preassembled so don't know how luk expect you to clean it

Instructions  I just bolted it down. There were no instructions.

Do you think it will settle down over time? Only done 20/30 km so far.

I hope so cause I can't see whatelse you could of done - my next move would be rebleed and at least 500k driving and monitoring - my last choice would be removal.

Id be a bit more bothered if it didnt do this before i changed the clutch/dmf. TBH the clutch and dmf looked ok it was only the slave which was fooked.

I think i did a good job. Will keep an eye on it.

Car started perfectly this morning after changing the battery, glow plugs and glow plug harness. Didn't get the Judder either.
