Fitted mine today
Have you had any issues with USB?  It seems to charge sometimes and not others, don't know whether this is linked to when I'm using mirror link for Android or not.  Pretty happy otherwise.

I noticed it doesn't supply enough current to keep my phone charged with data and GPS running (which was the same for my old in-car charger)

I've started using my separate 2A charger, setting the phone to Wifi Hotspot and then booting Google Maps from the head unit (and using its internal GPS)

I'm getting pretty close to rooting it and installing the Viper4Android audio drivers. The sound quality (and limited volume) of the stock setup are starting to bug me.

Quick question.  Does yours turn off with the ignition?  Mine doesn't and I can't find a setting for this!

Yeh, when you pull the key the display briefly shows a message about shutting down then turns off a couple of seconds after

I got some tips from the vendor and adjusted a switch on the back and it appears to work with the ignition now :happy2:

When you start this up does it start playing the radio instantly as its booted up or nothing for 30-40 seconds.

Thanx

It takes 30-40 seconds to boot up my Erisin ES9405EU and it starts playing automatically providing you've set up the options to do so - this is what it does on mine as Poweramp starts playing tracks stored on my microSD card automatically for me. I don't know about the radio as I never use that.

I don't hear anything before then it's booted up.

I have the power options configured to leave the stereo in sleep mode for 30 minutes when I leave the car so if I pop to the shops, the stereo starts working quite quickly when I return to the car instead of waiting 30-40 seconds again. Once the 30 minutes are up, it powers itself down and you have to wait for the stereo to fully boot up again. I've never had any battery issues with this, and I've not updated my Gateway either.

Hope this helps?

That was going to be.my next question, is it just the rns510 that gives battery drain or all aftermarket stereos. Answered my question I think

No probs.

I've got an early-ish GTI - a '55 plate with an AXX engine code so I'd be surprised if the gateway had been upgraded. The car originally came to me with an RCD300 basic stereo installed.
