Silicone coolant hoses benefits

Is there any benefit to fitting silicone coolant hoses or is it all just about the look of them when you pop the bonnet?

I think they are less likely to perish with age and heat cycles like rubber hoses do but other than that I don't think they offer any performance benefit

I did think that but then at the end of the day how often on mordern cars do you need to replace coolant hoses and if they have broke it's normaly down to rubbing on something.

Looks more likely just a cosmetic mod then really
