hi guys.

After some opinions, Ive been thinking about possibly changing my lipstick and brake calipers to yellow. anyone seen this done so i can see what it looks like or can anyone do some photoshop work on a black gti?

Thanks

I've seen a Pirelli edition with it done and it looked wicked! Think he had 4 or 6 pots in front though which helped :)

He had standard Pirelli edition wheels (silver) which IMO look horrid but his is the only car what looks like them wheels belong on it. Really did catch my eye.
Yellow lipstick gets thumbs up from me but leave the VW badge alone!

Hey guys. Still thinking about the yellow lipstick.

Today I done an oil change and fitted the new subframe bolts. Car is still knocking :( had a feel about and it could possibly the track rod ends but not the steering knuckle end, the rack end. Or if not it could be the rack :(

Mine still knocks and dead slow speed ever since the hr 30mm springs installed.

Found another thread on here with 3or 4 other people who all have hr30mm springs having the same problem. I've had new top mounts, the springs looked at track rod ends looked at the lot. Was thinking possibly arb bush or something but they look absolutely fine  :sad1:

Yeah all of mine are fine. If I grab the wheel whilst it's on a vehicle lift and jiggle side to side you can feel the knock in the track rod. My mate said it could be the end on the track rod that attached to the steering rack :/ might price up the parts and see.

So it's been a while since my last post. A few bits have changed with the car.

The knocking noise is pretty much sorted. The left hand cv joint was shot to s**t managed to get it replaced under warranty from the garage that fitted it originally.

I have also sprayed my front grills and fog surrounds satin black so it looks a lot better imo.

Also removed the gti badge from the rear.

I'll upload pics soon.

Off to the Nurburgring soon. So need to do an oil change, while I'm there I'll probably change the oil pick up. Need to do file filter and spark plugs as well.

As I say I'll upload pics soon.

Thanks for reading

Hi GrahamGti

The car looks great mate, good to see another black gti getting some love. You've pretty  much done the same mods as me lol.

Love the satin black grill, i've been tempted to do that myself but i restored my OEM with C4 and the results speak for themselves. Plus I have the diamond cut 18" monzas on mine so now the grill colour matches the wheel inserts as VW originally spec'd.

I discover Poorboys too, what an amazing product that is!! I use nattys paste to seal the car too and the rain just beads and runs off.

I'll be keeping an eye on your progress.

Good work fella

Booked in at pipecraft in Basildon at the end of the week to have my centre resonator removed and a pipe welded in place.

Still contemplating a remap before I go to the Nurburgring in a couple of weeks.
