Am looking at one in hour. What should I look out for and is the price right at £4500 for 2004 and 103k miles.

as what i can think of is that the cam belt is changed and water pump, ask for cam follower when it's done. clutch if manual? look for typical rust issues at the front wings.

someone else can add more info :happy2:

I just bought it for £4k. The lady assured me it had Cambelt and water pump done at 89k but they had no paperwork as husband had arranged it 2yrs ago but they are now split. But she gave me the garage name so I can call them to check. Clutch feels fine and pulls really well! There is a scratch on wing but I can touch it up.

I think the drivers side headlight has been replaced with a normal golf headlight and not the gti ones which have black inners.

GTI ones aren't smoked as standard. People buy smoke ones to give it a more aggressive look!

Don't worry about the light. Upgrade to xenons down the line for a few hundred, it's worth it!!

GTI halogens are have grey inner shells as standard. Passenger here has it, driver's doesn't - and it looks rather odd without it. Genuine Xenons will set you back around £450 for a pair all-in. A replacement light will cost you around £50-60 from eBay.

I have a set, but would rather sell as a pair unless you really can't find a single  :happy2:
