Which Anti Roll Bars?
« on: December 09, 2009, 04:03:13 pm »
Which ones should I fit to my Mk2 Leon Cupra? I am a little concerned that it will understeer if I put on a big front ARB.

Therefore, I am considering the 24mm front and rear whiteline ones, but I would like to hear what others think of the ones they have fitted.

Just ordered a WALK, will be getting VF Engineering Engine Mounts, and I already have Eibach Pro Street Coilovers (still to fit).

Ta,

Al

Given that OEM is smaller rear than front - having a matched pair brings it back into balance. Otherwise you'd just go larger rear to compensate.
Sideways yo!

i have the eibachs fromnt and rear. Initially had them both set to stiff. But After a weekend at the ring i tried the front on its softest setting, and rear on its stiffest setting and turn in was definately improved as well as a smidgeon less understeer. Combined with the walk they are very good.

Im a big believer in doing both the front and rear bars to keep some of the balance.

I believe they are 25mm fron 24mm rear. (not 100% on that though)

ARBs are the best mod ive done imo.

Thanks lads. Which rear ARB did you get Matt?

I am wondering if the 24mm White Line pair is a good idea or not? Not sure that anyone has fitted them yet?

i think whiteline bars will 100% be up to the job. I was 100% set on picking them up, but i ended up with eibachs from JKM as i was working near  there at the time and was more convenient.

You already hae the walk, if your getting the whitleine ARBs why not go for the full setup and pick up the whiteline bumpsteer kit. They wil have been designed to comlement each other surely.

Also just cos they are only 24mm it doesnt make them less stiff than say a 26mm bar. It all depends on how they are made

they do provide this which is interesting as ive never seen it from other manufacturers

this is only for non adjustable bars though.

I have Autotech ARB's front and rear on my ED30 and they are great......now I have the uprated brackets. Before, the brackets were too flimsy and I went through 2 brackets on the front.  By flimsy I mean they are about twice as thick as stock.

Still love them though. I agree that you need to do both front and rear and set the rear to hard if adjustable
Golf R gone.
