hi need some help
Got a mk5 gti candy White DSG 56 plate
Come with standard 300 radio looking to upgrade to better vw radio non sat nav what options is there want it to work with blue tooth got the controls on steering wheel etc
will it just plug in and work or do I need other parts

I believe an RCD510 will be what you are after if you do not want sat nav. You will need a Bluetooth kit aswell and a cable adaptor. Maybe an updated can us gateway to prevent battery drain. (You may be lucky and have the updated one anyway on a 56 plate). It will also need to be coded with vagcom.

7p6 Bluetooth £100
aerial adapter £8.50
Vacom coding - free
Can bus update - not needed for battery as I have late version K but I will need if I want to properly code the 7p6 (still works).

Really nice set up.

Really nice set up.
You can get a Polar BT/Battery module that will prevent the battery drain and make your 7P6 Bluetooth module work fully with your steering wheel and full FIS (if you have it). Check my GTI project if you want to see pictures.
