Goodwood Breakfast Club - Sun 6th Dec
« on: November 23, 2009, 03:10:01 pm »
I'm planning on going to the last 'Breakfast Club' meeting at Goodwood this year, which apparently has a Christmas theme, it's on Sun 6th December...

I've heard it's a good morning out with a decent bit of breakfast at the circuit whilst 'ogling' some great cars.....

Travelling with a mate who has a Civic Type R (never mind) and I'm taking the Ed 30...would be good to see and meet any others from the forum if anyone interested  :happy2:

I will definitely be there, especially as its only five Min's from my door.

I was looking yesterday and don't really understand the theme - guess I'll just wrap my car in tinsel and see how we go!

Do you have to be a member of the GRRC to go to this? I only started going to the Goodwood events this year as my boyf was a GRRC member and I loved them more than anything I've been to before but we've split up now so I'm on the long waiting list to be 'memberised'   :sad1:

It's a freebe from the Earl of March. I would recommend getting there for 8 or face parking in the field. Arrive from the south so they guide you into the Tarmac car park, or when coming from midhurst drive past the motor circuit and round the roundabout by RR.

I love them, they are a real enthusiasts meet, not to be missed. Once you've been you will diarise it every month.

I agree with Oli. I first went to the Supercars one in 2007 and have been to most since.  :happy2:

This sounds cool, so what goes on exactly? Spot of brekkie, look at cars... what cars are there? And other stuff to do with xmas etc... what about when it's not xmas? Does anyone go on their own or would that just be me?! No... I probs wouldn't turn up on my own... I have a fancy dinner party to go to the night before so might not be 100% up for early morning the next day!  :embarrassed:

Well sometimes I go on my own or sometimes I take my mate or I just might meet people while I am down there.

Normally the events are themed so Supercars, Italian exotica, Modified cars, etc. Essentially though you just look at the cars and eat some brekkie.

There are certain rules though. If you are on 'theme' you get to park on the start - finish straight. Slightly off goes in the pits and gravel car park and anything else vaguely interesting goes in the hard standing car park. After that it is the field along with the general public.

The main thing is that you go there and get what you want out of it. Essentially they are car enthusiasts like you and me so most of them are quite approachable and talkative.

Sounds great... though knowing me I'd turn up, wander off, and get lost! Haha, I'm always getting lost... well if I don't make it this time around I'll definitely be at one of the events next year

No show from me I'm afraid. After getting soaked last time I didn't fancy it again.  :sad1:
