NQSBBK - fitting advice
« on: May 31, 2015, 10:15:16 am »
Hello all,
I'm currently refurbishing a pair of Boxster 986 calipers and have some questions.
I need to know how much material to take off the pad sliding pegs to accommodate the 25mm width gti disc.
I have read the Dave B NQSBBK thread, all 65 pages but the exact amount is vague (couple of mills)
Do I need to take 1 or 2 mm off both sides or just one side?
Also when fitting the Dave B vagbremtechic  adaptor what are the torque setting for bracket to hub and then caliper to bracket?

Thanks in advance,
Mike.

Have you already got the pads for the set-up? You can buy them with the necessary material removed.

Hello AndyED30 thanks for your response.

Not sure what you mean about modified pads, I'm using standard Porsche (Texstar) pads. The material I need to remove is off the caliper pegs that the pads slide on insitu.
The issue is that the calipers are designed for 24mm width discs and the Gti discs are 25mm.
My problem is that I don't want to take too much material off or do both pegs (opposite side) when I only need to do one side.

Right re-read the first pages on the NQSBBK thread and have answered my own question!
I need to take 1mm off each peg :)

So just the torque settings needed for mounting the brackets and calipers, does anybody know?
