Really the guy I brought it off said he wanted to remap it so guessing he wasn't aware was already done ? Will have to look into that, would be a nice little unexpected extra ! The car is in great form ur mate obviously looked after it ! Let him know it's gone to a good home

I've just texted him to double check, it was definitely running a stage 1 Superchips map when he sold it last year, he said. There's a notable difference from standard even with a Bluefin stage 1 so you should be able to tell.

A telltale sign, if its stuggling for grip in 2nd/3rd gears then most likely its still got it on. They aren't regarded as the best maps on standard GTI's but the stage 1 bluefin isn't too bad on an ED30. Best to get it on a rolling road to confirm.

Anyway, glad you're enjoying it, they're great cars. Had mine nearly 4 years which is a personal ownership record for me!

Cheers Mike yeah definitely struggles for grip in 2nd/3rd so good chance it's still running stage 1 will get it on a rolling road after my holiday thanks for asking ur mate

No point shelling out another £400 if its still on there. It should be making about 290ish bhp
