Oh my, good choice.

Considering it's wet and cold, you're not even getting close to seeing the benefits yet - wait till you've got them like chewing gum on a warm day
Sideways yo!

Good point where was that link you posted about the novice session's, like that time you gave me a passenger ride at Oulton.
That would be perfect for me to break me in gently.  :driver:

Welcome to the world of grip TC :happy2:

What made you choose Dunlops over R1R's?

R1Rs have been getting some bad press for overheating on track with heavy cars, great fast road tyre though.

Club MSV run novice events, or look for anyone doing sessioned stuff and get in the newby group - you'll be fine. A few friends are doing Oulton on the 7th of April, I'm planning to go and laugh. Book on that and I'll guide you round.

Failing that, I think the next one I do will be Anglesey in June after the Ring in May.

EDIT I know Oulton is an open pit, but the CDays lads run a very good day (I try and use them for all mine now, they do run the best) and you'll not be flustered on track by clowns. Don't worry.

Welcome to the world of grip TC :happy2:

What made you choose Dunlops over R1R's?

Asking a few people with experience of both. And reading a few of Jonny's posts really, he always rated the R888's but he was focused on the quarter of a mile run, he mentioned a few times about the side wall being soft with them, which is ok in a straight line but i have to ( hopefully ) go round corners. Also i think that there wont be much in it performance wise, but the Dunlops should last a bit longer.  :happy2:

See my edit above too TC.

Right, I've been called out and I'm on a flight at 6am - so I best get my shizzle together, I'll get online soon and see if you're good to go for Oulton and ensure I'm there.

Laters.
Sideways yo!

Hey guys, what would be the correct front/rear tire pressure on Nurburgring for 235/35/19 on a 3700lbs GTI with B16 coils ?

The initial impression of the Toyo R1R in 225-40-18" W

Well, they seems massive on the rim and they are very square to look at, i meassured roughly the contactpatch of the tyre and compared it to the Goodyear performancegrip 225/45-17" i took of the car. the Goodyear was app. 190mm and the Toyo 210mm.

Initial impression is that the have tons more grip than the Bridgestone Re050a i have had on the car before in same size.
one thing that i noticed with the Bridgestones after the K04 rebuild was loads of understeer, the Toyo R1R actually induces some oversteer on same suspensionsplatform (only thing changed between the use of tyre types is a WALK kit courtesy Steve P  :happy2: )
So far the grip is more than acceptable for road use, the cost being more tire noise, which i can hear but the missus doesn't when she drives.
Looking forward to trying them on the ring later on, thx for reading  :star:

Over the top mod list ;o)
