I see what you mean about the splicing issue. Have there been many others like this. Do they know what causes it?
Could it be cold conditions? Or did it happen on a track day?

Mine where 2010 production. From what I remember most of the failed tyres
whre 2010s.
Of course this only happened on track, but why buy this kind of tyre if you
don't visit a track frequently?

It's bad on wet and so not suitable for a daily driver.

The 595RSRs are being used in a few race series now.  So they cant be that bad

Which series are these? Drift challange?  :grin: :grin:

I'm not God - I just tried to help confused beginners and give them an overview.

The RE050 for example isn't a tyre giving lots of peasure on track, but a Hankook
S1 evo or Conti SC3 are even more disappointing after a couple of laps.

Of course all street tyrers are mainly for street use, so they have a compound
optimized for wet and cold conditions.

The R1-R is in one league with KU36, 595 RS-R and RE070. So it has to be put
in this group. I did this table after I have talked to many guys that have at least
had two of these tyrers.

I know Holger, just wanted to clarify that this topic is very subjective.
But having tried the 3 tyres mentioned i have to stand by the previous mentioned, also having in mind i'm not the fastest of guys but i can hold my own  :P

Just been out for a few runs in the Polo with the Federal 595RS-R's fitted and they definitely have my seal of approval for use. Only fitted them today and went for a merry jaunt to scrub them in a little.

The surface wasn't the best to scrub in new tyres as it was damp, muddy in parts, cold (6.5oC) and the tyres only had few miles on them since fitted, however......

Even in these conditions the tyres have more grip than the Yokohama Parada Spec II's had in the dry!!!

Second time around (after dropping JJ off) I was stuck behind a Fabia on twisty bits and a Porsche 997 bore down on me at warp factor 10!!! :surprised:

 I "safely" passed the Fabia at the next straight immediately followed by the Porker, had a good play with him for a few miles and I was really surprised how well the Polo was balanced and just gripped. Then I turned off and he waved and gave the thumbs up as he roared on. It certainly gave the new tyres a thorough bedding in :innocent:

The tyres were predictable throughout and the cornering grip even in the damp is superb and even when I pushed it to beyond where the Parada's would have had me in a field, the Federal's still had more to give.

When the weather dries out I'll see if the tyres give me a better 0-60 and see if they are even grippier.

How do they compare to R1R's/R888's?  Certainly on par with the R1R's, quieter than the R888's by a long margin. As for ultimate grip we'll have to wait and see. :happy2:

Glad you rate them John. They will not compare to R888s on track when they have heat in them, but for a downright fast road with the occasional track day tyre, from the reviews they appear unbeatable.

The Toyo R888 is FAR better in the dry than the Federal.  :wink:

I can say for certain that the Federal's are easily as good as the R1R's after a little more "testing" today.

They are very predictable, which is invaluable in a tyre and for me are okay to use as a daily tyre as well as the odd track day. :smiley:

Maybe on my 1/4ton lighter car this is all I need Bruce  :P  :wink:

I still have them as well, Hurdy. I never minded they were as good at cornering as the R1-R.
But you shurely won't deny that many people had the splicing issues you can read about
on many forums..

The Paradas are no 'milestone' at all. They are crap.  :booty:

we all have our own opinions and waysof getting to them. IMO mentioning parada specs 2 tyres in track days tyres isn't relevant, as they are a 10 year old design and no way good enough for the track. And of course i believe my opinion is correct. You then have your own right to agree or disagree Janner Sy, but all opinions are wellcome, including yours :innocent:
