Is this Ed30 slightly over priced?
« on: June 06, 2015, 06:44:29 pm »
As per title do people think this is slightly overpriced,

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201506013939093?atmobcid=soc3

There are a few pirellis around which are retailing at roughly same price.
I'm assuming this should be advertised at around the 10-11k, what are people's thoughts?

Was going to pop down and see this today as I'm thinking of changing the dsg but the basic spec and aftermarket parking sensors put me off. Priced high considering the pirelli editions available with similar miles.

Premium on the mileage.

At the same price there is a fully loaded one at Kettering VW (also on AT) but it has 75,000 miles.

@jamesc I completely agree, those parking sensors do look tacky.
@david25 the mileage is good for the age, but I think the level of spec outways the mileage

Wow... I can't spot 1 single optional extra on there! How cheap must someone have been to get the special edition car but not buy a single extra?

Apart from the after-market parking sensors, which look balls.

Yeah its very poor spec and 45,000 miles isn't that low mileage and is not worth 12k.

Totally agree for that money is expect, DSG, Full display clocks, MFSW, satnav, OEM Mats, xeons, Cruise control, and colour coded parking sensors. Completely overpriced.

Id value that model at 9k for two reasons only, the fact that it an ed30 and the mileage.

Slightly yes - Parking Sensors needed on an ED30 ? Parking Sensors are for learners and the elderly who owned this to add parking sensors ? Basic spec on any car is ok especially a performance car imho , your buying the car to drive it extras on anew car ARE WAY overpriced ... Just look at the cost of Sat Nav on a MK5 . Sunroof - What for ? Most cars have air con nowadays ...etc  :innocent:

Yeah - fair enough, they're massively overpriced.

Massively over priced, IMHO. As said - no options on that car (although it is in the best colour).
I paid a little more than that for my ED30 from VW on 47k a couple of years back and it had Xenons, DSG, armrest, winter pack, Cruise control.
Still, maybe the condition is worth the extra, but I'm guessing this dealer is a chancer...

That's dealers !! There prepared to over price and wait for a bite , I got feed up with there overpricing on cars they know little about . Went private saved best part of 1.5k on same spec cars . Got hammered on my last car by a dealer , won't happen again

Holy sh*t if this list is accurate my car has over £5,000 of options, what was the original price on the MK5 GTI? I've heard it was £19,995 or there about? That would mean over 25% again on extras.
