AAX engine at 130k. It never used oil between changes and the follower was fine when I checked it 18 months ago. There was plenty in it when the low pressure warning came up but I put some in anyway.

Right then, I've just got around to taking the cam cover off and the inlet cam is not turning so obviously the chain has broken. I expect that two of the valves are bent and there are probably bits of chain floating about. As I got the low pressure warning I assume the oil pump has packed in.

I've got a quote for £1695 to fit a recon engine with 12 months warranty but would I be better off trying to sell the car as a non-runner? It's a top spec car and I love it but I am fed up with all the stupid things that go wrong with these cars.

If I spend £1695 (plus towing) and then sell it I may get all that back. What do you all think?

There's an AXX engine for sale - might be worth a shot?

I've been looking at that but it will probably end up costing me more and no warranty.

If you dont owe any payments on the car I would look at getting another car, rather than wasting money on it.
